Title: From priori to Depth -- Multimodal medical image fusion

Abstract:Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the world. Early detection and effective treatment of lung cancer are the most fundamental methods, which can significantly reduce the mortality of patients. Medical imaging plays a crucial role in tumor diagnosis. Positron emission tomography (PET) images and computed tomography (CT) images are important tools for the diagnosis, staging and postoperative evaluation of lung cancer.PET/CT fusion images can comprehensively detect lesions, accurately locate lesions, and determine benign or malignant lesions, so as to help doctors find lesions early, quickly and accurately, and assist in diagnosis. CT and PET image fusion is of great significance for the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer. The fusion strategy from the Priority to the Deepth is the trend of multimodal medical image fusion. This report will introduce the research results of our team in prior fusion and deep fusion, and discuss the future development trends.

Experience:Tao Zhou is currently a professor in School of Computer Science and Engineering, North Minzu University, Yinchuan, China. He is also a Ph.D. Supervisor in Institute for Medical Informatics, University of Huaqiao, Fuzhou, China.
